Geologist DJing Grateful Dead brunch at Baby's after AnCo DJ Brooklyn Bowl +++ more Phil Lesh shows on sale

Dead

As discussed, Animal Collective are on a DJ tour which hits NYC tonight (11/14) at Brooklyn Bowl with Avey Tare, Geologist and Deakin in tow. It also returns to that same venue on December 12 without Avey Tare. Tickets for both nights are still available.

While Geologist is in town this weekend, he’ll stop by Baby’s All Right on Saturday (11/15) to DJ their recurring Grateful Dead brunch, which as you may have guessed is an afternoon of brunch and DJs spinning Dead tunes. Saturday’s show will be hosted by Schaeffer Beach (aka TAO’s Rich Schaefer and Bowery Presents’ Johnny Beach), goes from noon to 4 PM and is free (the music, not the brunch). Flyer below. As you may remember, Animal Collective are no strangers to the Grateful Dead, having gotten the first ever licensed Grateful Dead sample in their song “What Would I Want? Sky.”

Meanwhile, to hear some Dead tunes in a live environment, the ongoing Phil Lesh & Friends residency at Port Chester’s Capitol Theatre continues this weekend with shows tonight (tickets) and Saturday (sold out). You can also get tickets to their upcoming shows the following two Fridays and Saturdays — 11/21, 11/22, 11/28, and 11/29. Phil also plays three shows leading up to New Year’s Eve at that venue with JRAD. 12/30 and 12/31 are sold out, but tickets to 12/29 go on sale today at noon.
