George Clinton's final tour w/ Parliament-Funkadelic hit Central Park (pics)

George Clinton announced last year he’d be retiring from touring in 2019, and has been on an extended farewell to the stage ever since. Wrapping up in August, his final tour hit Central Park on Tuesday night (6/4) for a packed SummerStage show. The band consisted of 77-year-old Clinton and many younger members onstage, including some of his grandkids. The setlist spanned his solo and Parliament-Funkadelic catalogs and included “Get Off Your Ass and Jam,” “One Nation Under a Groove,” “Give Up the Funk (Tear the Roof Off the Sucker),” and the fun evening closed with “Atomic Dog” where he invited a bunch of people onstage. The energy was really high, perfect early summer show of dancing and singing along.

We missed openers Dumpstaphunk & Miss Velvet and Fishbone but pictures of Galactic and George Clinton & P-Funk are in the gallery above.
