Geronimo (Bastard Noise, Sleestak) releasing 'Obsolete' (stream a track)

If you’re unfamiliar, Geronimo is the trio of bassist/vocalist Anthony Francoso and drummer Moises Ruiz (both of noise vets Sleestak) and W.T. Nelson (Bastard Noise/Man Is The Bastard) on electronics/vocals. They released their self-titled album back in 2007, a split with Bastard Noise in 2013, and now they’re gearing up to release a new album, Obsolete, on May 31 via Three One G Records (pre-order). It’s made up of just three lengthy songs, and we’re premiering one of them, the title track. The song starts out quiet and eerie and kind of just lingers there for a while, but then (spoiler alert), it goes from 0 to 100 — or more like 0 to 1000 — real quick. Blasts of harsh noise come bulldozing in, and world-weary, pissed-off vocals enter, turning “Obsolete” into an almost post-punk/industrial song that’s more accessible than you might have guessed from the intro.
