Glen Hansard‘s tour has him in NYC as we speak, in the midst of a two-night run. Last night (11/30) he played Brooklyn’s Kings Theater with support from the legendary Richard Thompson. Against a brick backdrop, Hansard’s set visually recalled his early days as a regular busker. His ample set stretched well past two hours allowing the Irish singer to regal the audience with stories and songs from his extensive oeuvre including his latest album, Didn’t He Ramble. Before the famous Once song “Falling Slowly”, Hansard guesstimated the song had been played over 9000 times in NYC (including the Broadway musical).
