Goldie may have inadvertently confirmed theory on Banksy's identity

One of the prevailing theories about the identity of anonymous prankster artist Banksy is that he is actually Robert Del Naja, aka 3D from Massive Attack. This theory may have been accidentally confirmed by fellow musician Goldie. The jungle artist (real name Clifford Joseph Price) was on UK rapper/spoken word artist Scroobius Pip‘s Distraction Pieces podcast talking about the commodification of graffiti, and he said “Give me a bubble letter and put it on a T-shirt and write “Banksy” on it and we’re sorted. We can sell it now,” he said, followed by “No disrespect to Robert, I think he is a brilliant artist. I think he has flipped the world of art over.” Scroobius didn’t follow up on it, and Goldie veered in a different direction, but saying “No disrespect to Robert” certainly could be taken as confirmation its 3D. Listen to that bit of the podcast below, and listen to the whole thing here.
