Governors Ball organizers looking to throw a new music fest in Citi Field parking lot

As DNAinfo reports, Founders Entertainment — the people behind Governors Ball — are planning to throw another NYC music festival. It would be called The Meadows and happen October 1 & 2 in the parking lot at Citi Field, the same place Electric Daisy Carnival happens. According to the DNAinfo article, it “will feature musical acts ranging from rock to electronica on four stages,” and “there will also be multiple vendors hawking food and drinks from local chefs and art inspired by 5Pointz, the former graffiti mecca in Long Island City.”

The festival could present a conflict for the nearby Maker Faire at the New York Hall of Science (NYSCI), which is across Flushing Meadows-Corona Park from Citi Field. Last year, the Citi Field parking lot was used for parking during Maker Faire, which had an estimated 95,000 people attend.
