Grand Ole Opry’s Times Square location now open

Opry City Stage, the long-in-the-works, four-level Times Square venue-restaurant spinoff of Nashville’s famed Grand Ole Opry, opened tonight (12/1) at 1604 Broadway (formerly Spotlight Live). The street level space will house a retail store, with the two middle levels home to a 250-seat restaurant with a bar and stages modeled after Nashville’s famed Ryman Auditorium. The fourth floor is a dedicated music venue called The Studio.

Live music is central to Opry City Stage, and the stages in the two-level restaurant will host performances at all times the restaurant is open (8 AM – 1 AM). No word yet on who will be playing the fourth floor Studio venue which is set to open in mid-January, but there’s a New Year’s Eve party featuring a performance from Locash.
