Green Day brought the ‘Revolution Radio’ tour to BB&T Pavilion (pics, setlist)
Green Day have been on tour all year in support of 2016’s Revolution Radio. After playing Barclays Center with Against Me! in March, they returned to the tri-state area this week for shows at Hartford’s XFINITY Theatre on Tuesday (8/29) and Camden’s BB&T Pavilion last night (8/31). We caught the Camden show. Unlike at the small club shows they played around the album’s release, this one was pretty light on material from their classic early/mid ’90s era. Other than the hits from Dookie, the only oldies were “2000 Light Years Away” and their cover of Operation Ivy’s “Knowledge.” The rest of the set was all Nimrod and later, with a heavy focus on American Idiot.
Catfish and the Bottlemen opened the show. Pictures are in the gallery above and Green Day’s setlist is below.
Green Day will return to the area for Global Citizen Festival in Central Park on September 23.
In related news, the new Jawbreaker documentary — which features several interviews with Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong — screened in NYC last night with a Q&A with Blake Schwarzenbach.
