Greg Lake, RIP

Another legendary musician has sadly left us. Greg Lake passed away yesterday (December 7) at age 69. The news was broken on Greg’s website by his friend and manager Stewart Young:

Yesterday, December 7th, I lost my best friend to a long and stubborn battle with cancer. Greg lake will stay in my heart forever, as he has always been. His family would be grateful for privacy during this time of their grief.

Many thanks,
Stewart Young

Greg played in a handful of bands over the years, including King Crimson, whose first two albums he sang lead on. He then formed Emerson Lake and Palmer, was in the offshoot Emerson Lake and Powell, had a solo career, and briefly joined Carl Palmer in Asia.

Rest in peace Greg, you’ll be missed and not forgotten. Say hi to Keith for us.
