Grizzly Bear announce new album ‘Painted Ruins’ and tour, share new song

Grizzly Bear Painted Ruins

After teasing their anticipated new album for a while, Grizzly Bear finally released their new single “Three Rings” earlier this month. Now they’ve revealed that the followup to 2012’s Shields is called Painted Ruins and due out on August 18. That’s the album artwork above, and the tracklist is below. Like past releases, it was produced by the band’s own Chris Taylor.

Grizzly Bear have also announced their first proper tour in four years, following the announcement that they’ll play Corona Capital Fest. The tour includes NYC shows on November 2 and 3 at Brooklyn Steel. Tickets for those shows go on sale May 24 at noon. “Grizzly Bear has partnered with PLUS1 so that $1 from every ticket goes to support HeadCount working to promote civic engagement, and inform and register young voters.”

All dates are listed, with a visual for “Three Rings,” below.

UPDATE: Grizzly Bear also released a second single today, “Mourning Sound,” which you can hear below too.
