Grizzly Bear will start recording their new album in June

When Grizzly Bear came out of hibernation last month to play a Bernie Sanders rally in Brooklyn, they also revealed that they’d finally be following 2012’s Shields. Now co-frontman Ed Droste revealed that they’ll officially start recording it on June 1:

That’s exciting! Shields remains a very fine record and it feels like it’s been way too long since it came out. Stay tuned for more.

In addition to this new album, half of Grizzly Bear (Daniel Rossen and Christopher Bear) teamed up with The National, So Percussion and more for a take on the Grateful Dead’s lengthy “Terrapin Station” for the Dessner brothers’ upcoming 59-song Dead tribute. If you missed that, listen below:
