Grouper releases new two-song 7", 'Paradise Valley' (stream it)

While we’re still patiently awaiting an album-length followup to Grouper‘s excellent 2014 LP Ruins, today she just released a new two-song 7″, Paradise Valley. It’s not a coincidence that it came out on the winter solstice, and, like most of Grouper’s music, these songs are perfect to listen to in cold weather. They both nail that haunting mix of folk, slowcore and dream pop that Grouper has nailed so many times, and her voice sounds particularly gorgeous here.
