Guided by Voices, Built to Spill, Okkervil River & more played OctFest (pics)

It was a very busy weekend for shows in NYC, and one of the many killer options on Saturday (9/9) was OctFest, the beer and music festival put on by Pitchfork’s beer site, October, which took place at Brooklyn Hangar in Sunset Park. If you were a classic indie rock fan the lineup was hard to beat, with headliners Guided by Voices, plus Built to Spill (who replaced an ailing Charles Bradley), Okkervil River, and The Sadies, plus The Pains of Being Pure at Heart and Kilo Kish. For the beer fans, admission included tastings of over 40 craft beers from breweries all over the world.
