Guillemots frontman Fyfe Dangerfield is playing a few solo shows in the U.S. at the end of the month, including a January 26 date at Joe’s Pub. He’s doing press for his upcoming solo debut, Fly Yellow Moon, which will be out March 16. Dangerfield hasn’t disbanded Guillemots. This was a bit of an impromptu record, the bulk of which was recorded in five days with some additional polish and strings afterwards on some songs — like the ELO-ish first single “She Needs Me” — from producer Bernard Butler.

Dangerfield is still reaching for the stars on the choruses, but production-wise, Fly Yellow Moon is more in tune with Guillemots’ charming debut (containing swoon-worthy single “Trains to Brazil”) than 2008’s overblown Red.

You can download a track from Fly Yellow Moon, “When You Walk Into the Room,” above and videos for “She Needs Me” and “Trains to Brazil” ares at the bottom of this post, along with all tour dates.
