guitarist Bill Orcutt releasing collaborative album w/ Jacob Felix Heule (stream a track); playing Trans-Pecos this weekend

by Bill Pearis

Bill Orcutt

Since his days in ’90s noise band Harry Pussy, Bill Orcutt has been unleashing his frenetic, bluesy/jazzy blast guitar style upon the world. He’s got a new collaborative album with drummer Jacob Felix Heule, titled Colonial Donuts, which will be out September 8. Their styles work well together and you can get a taste via “Labor And Enchantment,” which rolls through like a thunderstorm on a tin roof, lasting barely a minute. That track makes its premiere in this post and you can stream it below.

Bill Orcutt will be in NYC this weekend, playing Trans Pecos on Sunday (6/28) with 75 Dollar Bill, Tom Carter, Pat Noecker and Excepter on DJ Duty. Tickets are on sale.
