GZA played 'Liquid Swords' anniversary show @ the Blue Note (pics, videos)

GZA‘s classic 1995 solo album Liquid Swords turns 25 this year, and the Wu-Tang member has been celebrating the anniversary on tour this year, and he just graced his home city of New York with two full-band shows at the iconic Blue Note Jazz Club last night (2/12). We caught the 8 PM show, and GZA and his band — led by ODB’s brother Ramsey Jones on drums, and also featuring Jerome Jordan on guitar, Djibril Toure on bass, Entrfied McCloud on keys, and Robert Knowles on piano/keytar — played about two thirds of Liquid Swords, and they also did some classics from Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers) and paid tribute to ODB with a rendition of “Shimmy Shimmy Ya.”
