Halcyon Records opens new Williamsburg location (Ellen Allien playing this week)

Long-running, dance-music-oriented record store Halcyon has moved to a new Brooklyn location, now part of the Etiquette Café and events space at 53 Broadway (between Berry and Wythe). The shop, which first opened in in Carroll Gardens in 1999, has moved a few times over the last 20 years, including a Dumbo location, and in 2016 opened as part of Williamsburg club Output (which closed at the end of last year). The new location is open daily from 10 AM – 5 PM.

Halcyon has guest DJs and events from time to time and on Thursday (9/19) hosts Ellen Allien “Vinylism” series. Ellen will be DJing and the night also features Heidi Sabertooth, Julia Govor and Mike Servito b2b Justin Cudmore.

Ellen Allien also plays Friday, September 20 at Basement in Knockdown Center with Volvox and Juana (tickets).
