Haley Heynderickx made her NYC debut at Berlin on Friday (2/9) night. The Portland, OR singer-songwriter seemed overwhelmed at the reception she got at the show, which she played in advance of the release of her debut album, I Need to Start a Garden (due March 2). Along with some songs from the album, Haley covered Townes Van Zandt and Jackson C. Frank, and played a very entertaining song written for an open mic night about desperately seeking macaroni and cheese at Whole Foods. She ended with her excellent song “Oom Sha La La,” which she encouraged the crowd to sing along on the choruses of. Check out pictures from Friday night’s show, which Mike Brandon of The Mystery Lights opened, in the gallery above, and find the setlist and a couple of video clips below.

Haley’s upcoming shows include some dates opening for The Low Anthem, as well as Pickathon and Green Man. She also plays this year’s SXSW.
