Happy Diving releasing debut LP ‘Big World’ (song stream)

by Andrew Sacher

Happy Diving

California’s Happy Diving make sludgy, punky rock that suggests they’ve probably listened to a few Dinosaur Jr or Torche records in their time. They put out an EP on Father/Daughter earlier this year, and now they’re following it with their first full length, Big World, on November 4 via the same label (physical and digital pre-orders). It was produced by Deafheaven/Joyce Manor producer and ex-Comadre/current Everybody Row member Jack Shirley, who pretty much always puts the right touch on bands looking to get a raw but powerful and audible sound. Its new single, “Space Ooze,” premieres in this post.

Listen, with their list of dates (all in California, including a release show which is also a stop of the Big Ups / LVL UP tour), below…

Happy Diving — 2014 Tour Dates
Saturday, Sept 27th @ Thee Parkside (San Francisco, CA) – Bay Area Record Fair
Saturday, October 4th @ Chromatic Coffee (San Jose, CA) w/ The Exquisites
Wednesday, October 22nd @ 1-2-3-4 Go! (Oakland, CA) – Record release show with w/ Big Ups, Lvl Up, Fish Breath
