Hard Rock - Atlantic City

Hard Rock Hotel and Casino opening in Atlantic City (initial show lineup)

Hard Rock - Atlantic City

The Hard Rock Hotel & Casino chain will soon be opening a new location in Atlantic City this summer. According to Billboard, the new casino is set to open June 28, and will take over the AC boardwalk’s shut-down, abandoned Trump Taj Mahal building. As Hard Rock CEO Jim Allen said Wednesday at NYC’s Hard Rock Times Square location, the new building will be “an entertainment facility, not just a casino.”

That includes a live music venue, and the casino plans to host 300 nights of live music per year. This is in addition to a comedy club, 20 restaurants and bars, around 2,000 hotel rooms, nearly 2,100 slot machines, and 120 table games. There will be a “massive electric guitar” at the entrance and, according to Billboard, guests will be given electric guitars to play in their hotel rooms. (This sounds like a lot of calls to the front desk can be expected.) Like many other Hard Rock locations, the casino will exhibit lots of music memorabilia, including outfits worn by Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey, and a signed guitar from Jon Bon Jovi.

Among the artists set to play the casino’s music venue include a good mix of interesting artists (and others less so), such as Third Eye Blind, Stone Temple Pilots with Bush and The Cult, Steely Dan, Florida Georgia Line, Rascal Flatts, Counting Crows, Chris Young, Frankie Valli, Toby Keith, and Kid Rock. Tickets to these shows are currently on presale, with general on-sale starting Friday, April 20 at 10 AM.
