Woodstock Session life (more by Greg Cristman)

In their own words, Woodstock Sessions “produces intimate hybrid-recording sessions/performances for devoted fans who seek once-in-a-lifetime opportunities to learn from and hang out with their favorite musicians, while experiencing what it takes to make a live record.” We had a great time last year spending the day with Bad Brains (and the pig you see pictured above).

The sessions are held at Applehead Recording & Production on a scenic farm in Woodstock, NY (1835 Route 212), and each one is limited to just 75-100 people. They include catered meals and other benefits. The next one is nine hours with Joseph Arthur. Check out the full upcoming schedule below:

“The 21st Century Electric Guitarist as Real-Time Orchestrator”
The electric guitar was, is and always will be an instrument that inspires danger and beauty. It’s rude, loud, noisy and abrasive. It’s warm, heartfelt, engaging and interactive. Using modern technology and multifaceted technique, David Torn will take guitarists on a sonic journey through multiple genres, enabling them to develop a new relationship with their instruments where they will begin to see and use them as uniquely orchestrational. While continuing to kick ass.
There be a significant and entertaining conversation, discussion, Q&A and hang time regarding the almighty electric guitar as well as the meanings and realities of dedicating one’s life to the pursuit of music.
And food damn it! There will be Food.
Participants are encouraged to bring (only one) electric guitar, if they wish, but it is not required for attendance.
