Heems played a solo show at new Bushwick venue Elsewhere last night (11/21). He was backed by “Mike from Long Island” (that’s how he was introduced), and he did his verses from Swet Shop Boys and Das Racist songs, plus songs from his solo album Eat Pray Thug and new material, including a song he said he wrote last week. Heems also brought out fellow Queens rapper Akinyemi for one song.

Jelani Sei opened, and local duo Weekend Money were added at the last minute to replace Swedish-Iranian musician Nadia Tehran, who had to drop off the bill. Pictures are in the gallery above.

In related news, acclaimed Pakistanki musician/writer Ali Sethi, who has collaborated with Swet Shop Boys, will be in NYC for a sold-out show at Joe’s Pub on December 2 with Sunny Jain.
