Hellfest 2017

Hellfest 2017 lineup: Deep Purple, Slayer, Deafheaven, The Damned, Opeth, more

We were recently wondering why Deep Purple and Blue Oyster Cult don’t tend to play music festivals with cool younger metal bands (or other cool old metal bands), and well, in 2017 they both will. Deep Purple were announced as one of the headliners for France’s Hellfest, which also includes BOC, plus Slayer, Prophets of Rage, Ministry, Saxon, In Flames, Kreator, Emperor, Opeth, Coroner, Autopsy, Obituary, Behemoth, Metal Church, Deafheaven, Marduk, Cryptopsy, Scour, Nails, Hate Eternal, Crypt Sermon, Alcest, Primitive Man, Wormed, Ghoul, Suicidal Tendencies, Electric Wizard, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Helmet, Clutch, Baroness, Red Fang, Pentagram, Hawkwind, Candiria, Trap Them, Blood Ceremony, Bongripper, SubRosa, Noothgrush, Ufomammut and more.

There’s also a bunch of cool punk bands like Rancid, The Damned, Agnostic Front, Leftover Crack, The Bouncing Souls, DRI, Integrity, and more, and other cool stuff like Chelsea Wolfe and Primus.

There’s also some very not-cool stuff like Linkin Park and Five Finger Death Punch, and, interestingly enough, Aerosmith are also headlining.

The fest happens June 16-18. 3 day passes are sold out, but more ticket info (including info on resale tickets) is here. Full lineup here.
