Vital Remains – Icons of Derp

We talked about this a bit over at Invisible Oranges, but it’s too good not to share here: some enterprising metal fan has started a Tumblr entitled Metal Albums with Googly Eyes. Which, unsurprisingly, features photos of well-known metal album covers with googly eyes on ’em. These are great because they highlight the delicate balance between seriousness and absurdity that characterizes so much metal imagery; super-stern images become super-goofy with only slight modifications.
