here's what Jim Coleman (Human Impact, Cop Shoot Cop) is listening to in isolation

With the coronavirus outbreak causing many people to stay at home as often as possible, we’ve been asking musicians what music they’re listening to in isolation, and this playlist comes from former Cop Shoot Cop member Jim Coleman, who’s now playing in the band Human Impact (alongside members of Unsane and Swans), whose self-titled debut is one of our favorite new albums.

“This playlist is a snapshot of my psyche in this current state of social distancing,” Jim says. “It’s part of the cure. Music has always been a conduit for visceral connections, jump starting physical responses and involvement from the heart and body. It bridges the space between, spanning differences, bringing us together – sometimes to love, sometimes to fight, but forever bridging the gap. These songs have all been road tested to take me out of my four walls.”

Jim picked songs by Joy Division, Killing Joke, Gang Of Four, Lightning Bolt, Boris, Liars, Boards of Canada, Deli Girls, NAH, BIG | BRAVE, Show Me the Body, YOB, Pharmakon, Wire, Planning for Burial, and lots more. Listen here…
