Hey Guy, the project led by Gogol Bordello guitarist Boris Pelekh, is releasing a new album this year called You’re Perfect. While most details on the album are still TBA (but that’s the cover art above), we’re premiering its new single “Stereo.” If you like Gogol’s party-ready mix of gypsy music and punk, you’ll probably like this too. It’s cut from a similar cloth, but a little more in the anthemic alternative rock realm. Boris says, “‘Stereo’ is a song about celebration. In actual sense, when bringing your romantic pursuit to a gathering where the roof gets blown off, and you party like it’s the end of the world. And also in a spiritually philosophical sense, in finding enlightenment through a persistent focus on the joy of life.” Listen below. The song officially hits digital and streaming platforms this Friday (3/1).

No upcoming shows scheduled for Hey Guy at the moment, but Gogol Bordello‘s 20th anniversary tour is about to get underway. It starts March 14 at Clifton Park, NY’s Upstate Music Hall, and there’s also a Long Island show on March 20 at The Space at Westbury which we’re giving away tickets to. Enter for a chance to win via the widget below. A winner will be chosen at random and contacted with more details. You can also still buy tickets.

Meanwhile, Gogol Bordello frontman Eugene Hutz is playing the tribute to Suicide’s Alan Vega at NYC’s Bowery Electric tonight (2/27) with Suicide’s Martin Rev, Kid Congo, Lydia Lunch, The Rapture’s Luke Jenner, Jesse Malin, Mr. Pharmacist, Genesis P-Orridge, and more. Talking about the show, Eugene said, “NYC, the place responsible for much of desperate alienation… and naturally for the most radically beautiful schools of self expression to fight & counterbalance that very syndrome. Alan Vega & Martin Rev‘s ‘Suicide’ is such great manifestation of that… Psyched to be a part of the annual tribute to what they created.” Tickets are still available.
