His Name Is Alive Patterns of Light

His Name Is Alive releasing 'Patterns of Light' (stream "Thanks A Million")

Warren Defever will release a new His Name Is Alive album, Patterns of Light, this Friday (11/11) via Light In The Attic (pre-order). In case you haven’t kept up with HNIA, they’re making pretty different stuff today than they were in their early ’90s 4AD days. We’re premiering the new album’s single “Thanks A Million,” which is like a ’60s psych pop song injected with the kind of proggy hard rock soloing that came into full force a few years after that decade ended. It’s very worth hearing, and you can do so right here:

Warren’s band for this album is Andrea Morici (vocals, mellotron, moog), Dusty Jones (guitar, bass), J. Rowe (drums, percussion), and it also has violin and string arrangments by Jean Cook (Ida, Jon Langford, Beauty Pill), and additional mellotron by Bubba Ayoub.
