Those who showed up to Saint Vitus in Brooklyn last night (5/21) expecting to see Hooded Menance were disappointed to find out after getting there, that the Finnish metal band never showed. This morning they explained on Facebook:

As some of you might have heard, we were forced to cancel our show in saint vitus bar, NYC, yesterday. Our orignal flight from Helsinki was cancelled and we were rerouted through London, arriving too late and in the process our gear was lost. We are getting them back today. Hooded Menace is deeply sorry for the cancellation, but there was nothing we could do anymore. Our tour continues as planned from here, so see you in Philadelphia tomorrow!!!

As they say, they’re still playing Philadelphia Saturday and then Maryland Deathfest and Montreal too.

The show’s original lineup of Cripple Bastards, Maruta, Archagathus and Detroit did still play Saint Vitus last night though, so at least people got their money’s worth.

Maryland Deathfest begins today (5/22). Other recently mentioned bands on the festival bill include Midnight, Eyehategod, Coffins (who played Saint Vitus Tuesday night), and Agalloch (who play Irving Plaza in June), but not Triptykon.
