Alex Taylor The Met Cloisters

Hot Chip’s Alexis Taylor playing The Cloisters with Money Mark, Annie Hart, more

Hot Chip’s Alexis Taylor will be playing a very special show in NYC on March 15 at The Met Cloisters, the branch of the museum that overlooks the Hudson from Ft. Tryon Park that is dedicated to the art, architecture, and gardens of medieval Europe. The show will feature Alexis collaborating with Beastie Boys keyboardist Money Mark and visual artist Nick Relph, along with Annie Hart (Au Revoir Simone), and Jonny Lam. From The Met’s description, “Expect modern-day secular ‘spirituals,’ playing with our expectations of artificiality and authenticity, responding to The Met Cloisters’ space and history.” Tickets are on sale.

Alexis, who released solo album Beautiful Thing last year, also has an upcoming DJ set in London on February 16 where he’ll be spinning an all-Prince set. He’s long been down with Prince, as you may know.
