Household

Brooklyn postpunk band Household are calling it quits, but will play one last show before they do — Saturday (4/26) at Baby’s All Right. If you’ve never given the band a spin, well shame on you, but you can listen to 2013’s mini-LP, Elaines, in full below. If you like skeletal early-’80s pop like Liliput, The Slits, or Girls at Our Best, Household follow that tradition very well.

Saturday’s final performance is part of The Good Festival which “celebrates local music and good food initiatives with cooking demos + sustainable-living workshops between bands’ sets.” The rest of the lineup is good too, with The Suzan, The Naked Heroes, Juan Wauters, Wild Yaks and The Wives.

As for the cooking demos part, here’s what to expect:

PLANT PROPAGATION: Melissa Metrick, Roberta’s Garden
DOUGH AND KNEADING: Sfoglini Pasta
GET YOUR JAM ON: Anarchy in a Jar
TAIWANESE DESSERTS: Cathy Erway
NO BAKE TART: Meredith Alcarese, Local Roots CSA Member
WORM COMPOSTING: Local Roots NYC

Doors are at 6 PM with bands starting at 7 PM. Tickets are on sale. Flyer for The Good Festival and Household album stream below…
