HR playing Brooklyn before Bad Brains play Riot Fest
Three days before Bad Brains play Riot Fest, frontman HR will play a solo show in NYC backed by punk/reggae band Kingsound Vibration. It’s at Brooklyn Bowl on 9/13 and also features Shinobi Ninja, Rocker T, and Punk in Dub with Selector Agent Jay. Tickets go on sale Friday (7/21) at 10 AM.
Bad Brains’ Riot Fest set will have “all original members plus special guests.” Perhaps it’ll be something like their semi-surprise performance at Darryl Jenifer’s art show last month, which had the classic lineup of HR, Darryl, Dr. Know, and Earl Hudson, plus guest appearances by Lamb of God frontman Randy Blythe and original Bad Brains vocalist Sid McCray. Darryl’s art show is open through August 9 at Okay Space in Williamsburg, and there’s an artist talk with him on July 26 (RSVP).
