iamamiwhoami coming from Sweden to play first US shows, including Brooklyn Masonic Temple

iamamiwhoami in Sweden in 2011 (more)

iamamiwhoami (aka Swedish electronic art pop musician Jonna Lee) made a name for herself on the internet a few years back when she uploaded some singles indebted to artists like Bjork, The Knife, etc, and since released two albums — 2012’s kin and this year’s bounty. We caught her in Sweden in 2011, seeing that she was not just an anonymous figure hiding behind the mask of YouTube, but actually an elaborate live performer. She’ll now be taking that live show to the US for the first time this year.

One of the two US shows she’ll be playing happens in NYC on September 24 at Brooklyn Masonic Temple, which is the same place that Todd Terje and Lindstrom play that month. Tickets for the show are on sale now. The other show is two days earlier as part of the Symbiosis Gathering in Oakdale, CA.
