I'm Every Woman photo exhibition

"I'm Every Woman" music photography exhibit in Brooklyn this week

Seven music photographers are celebrating International Women’s Day on Thursday (3/8) with a photo exhibition benefiting My Sister’s Place, a domestic violence and human trafficking charity. Distortion Unplugged is hosting “I’m Every Woman” at Williamsburg’s Marcy North on March 8, which focuses on women in music both behind and in front of the lens. Organized by longtime BrooklynVegan contributor Dana Distortion, “I’m Every Woman” will feature photos of PJ Harvey, Amy Winehouse, Dolores O’Riordan, Yoko Ono, Florence + The Machine, Grace Jones, Courtney Love and more by Dana, BV Photo Editor and Social Media Manager Amanda Hatfield, Jessica Lehrman, Piper Ferguson, Katarina Benzova, Jen Maler, and Silvia Saponaro.

Celebrate International Women’s Day March 8th with Photographs of Women, by Women, for the benefit of Women, at Marcy North in Williamsburg

DATE/TIME: March 8th, 6-10pm

To honor International Women’s Day, Distortion Unplugged will be hosting the “I’m Every Woman” charity photography exhibition. This exhibit will feature photographs of the most famous women in music, taken by a group of acclaimed women photographers. Screaming Horses will be DJing along with special guests to be announced!

All the photography in the “I’m Every Woman” exhibit will be for sale, with all proceeds donated to My Sisters’ Place in NY.

Donate over $100+ or purchase a print to be entered to win a Lomography Camera, Dr Jart’s gift bag, and other prizes!!!

The following photographers will be featured in the exhibit (Featuring photos of Bjork, Amy Winehouse, Dolores O’Riordan, Yoko Ono, Florence and The Machine, Grace Jones, Courtney Love, and more!! Some prints will be signed by the artist.):

Since 1976, My Sisters’ Place (MSP) has worked to end violence in intimate relationships and combat the effects of domestic violence and human trafficking on women, men, and children throughout Westchester County. MSP has evolved from a grassroots task force and drop-in center into a cutting edge leader and resource in the field of domestic violence advocacy, shelter and legal services and education and prevention.
