Interpol played MSG with Car Seat Headrest and Snail Mail (pics, setlist)

“I think anytime you have the opportunity to just go to Madison Square Garden it means something,” Kessler tells The Post before Saturday’s concert there. “I’m a Knicks fan and whenever I go to see a game there, it means something. It’s a special, special place. And then to play there is really something else, and to have the opportunity to play there for the second time. We’ve played something like over a thousand concerts at this point, and no matter how many concerts you’ve played, when you enter a place like that you’re humbled and you want to savor and really be very present every moment you’re in that building.” – [New York Post]

Interpol came back to Madison Square Garden on Saturday night (2/17/2019) and brought Matador labelmates Car Seat Headrest and Snail Mail with them. Opening with Our Love to Admire‘s “Pioneer to the Falls,” just like they did in 2007, Interpol also played a handful of songs off last year’s Marauder in addition to hits like “Slow Hands,” “C’Mere,” “Evil,” “Obstacle 1,” “Not Even Jail” and “NYC.” You can check out their MSG setlist below.

Car Seat Headrest’s set included “Drunk Drivers/Killer Whales” and “Destroyed by Hippie Powers” and Snail Mail played “Heat Wave,” “Pristine” and more in their opening set. Check out pics from the whole night at MSG in the gallery above.
