Invisible Oranges turns 10, posting greatest hits

IO

“The metal blog” Invisible Oranges celebrates its 10th anniversary this week. Cosmo Lee, a metal reviewer for publications like Stylus Magazine (RIP), started the site in 2006. BrooklynVegan saved it from shutting down and took it over at the beginning of 2013. It was a natural fit and a like-minded compliment to our own regular metal news. We’re proud to have helped the site make it to its 10th birthday, of the writing over there, and of the many established music writers who have Invisible Oranges on their resume. In honor of the special occasion IO interviewed the elusive Cosmo, and has been having a “Greatest Hits Week” with past and present contributors selecting their favorite pieces from throughout the site’s history.

The greatest hits are a nice chance to survey the variety and great writing that has kept IO going for so long; so far the greatest hits have covered great live bands, Ludicra, metal sci-fi, Rob Miller, metal, gaming, and the occult, and of course, plenty of Metallica. You can check out all the greatest hits selections here, and there are more on the way.

Happy anniversary, IO!
