Islands celebrated 'Return to the Sea' 10th anniversary @ Webster Hall (pics)

Islands have been celebrating the 10th anniversary of their debut album, Return to the Sea, by playing it in full at shows in NYC and LA. They brought that to NYC over the weekend (12/10) at Webster Hall with openers The Magic. Before they played, Islands offered up a trip down memory lane with a slideshow that included other 2006 signifiers (Basic Instinct 2, Now That’s What I Call Music 64) before laying into “Don’t Call Me Whitney, Bobby,” “Rough Gem,” “Ones” and other faves from the LP.

There were a few cameos, too. Subtitle came out for “Where There’s A Will There’s A Whalebone” (Busdriver was on the original) and Michael Cera and TEEN joined the band for a few songs as well Pictures from the show are in the gallery above and you can check out video of “Where There’s A Will There’s A Whalebone” and the Webster Hall setlist below.
