It’s Record Store Day – Watch St. Vincent kick it off at Rough Trade (pics, video)

It’s Record Store Day. In her capacity as Record Store Day Ambassador, St. Vincent made a brief appearance at Rough Trade, before their day of free live music and DJs. Watch her uncork a bottle of wine for the occasion below. More pictures of her Rough Trade appearance, as well as the scene at a few NYC record stores, like Turntable Lab and Academy Record Annex, in the gallery above. We also have a few pictures from Johnny’s Records in Darien CT, a 40-year-old record store where Moby once worked.

Lots of special events are happening in NYC today for Record Store Day, from in-store performances to free beer; our guide details them. We also made a list of 10 record stores in Brooklyn that you may not know about. Finally, here are the special releases we’re interested in shopping for today. Happy hunting!

Speaking of Rough Trade, Gorillaz play a record release show for Humanz there on Tuesday, April 25.

And just like that, she was gone! #stvincent #recordstoreday
