J.I.D played Irving Plaza with Saba & EarthGang (pics & videos), touring with Logic
J.I.D and Saba began a tour together earlier this month, and that awesome hip hop double bill landed at NYC’s Irving Plaza last night (5/12). J.I.D was technically the headliner, but it felt like a co-headlining show and the crowd was just as enthusiastic for Saba as they were for J.I.D. J.I.D brought out his Dreamville labelmates EarthGang (who were in town after having just opened for Smino) during his set, and he also brought out opener Marian Mereba. At the end of the set, J.I.D asked a crowd member to come up and help him rap a song, and a fan crowdsurfed to the front, threw on a headband, and did just that. After the set, J.I.D. and EarthGang went into the crowd to sign everything from bodies to posters to tickets to sneakers. Pictures of the very fun show are in the gallery above.
J.I.D. also now announced that he’ll support Logic on tour later this year, including the show at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center on November 8. Tickets for that show go on sale Friday (5/17) at 11 AM with presales beforehand. Also opening that tour is the very promising YBN Cordae (who has his own headlining tour beforehand).
