Say Yes! A Tribute to Elliott Smith is out next week (10/14), and J. Mascis has shared his contribution, a nicely grungy, Mascisian take on “Waltz #2 (XO).” You can stream that here:

The Elliott Smith tribute record also features J’s Dinosaur Jr. bandmate Lou Barlow, along with Julien Baker, Tanya Donelly, Amanda Palmer, Juliana Hatifeld, Yuck, and more.

Meanwhile, J. will also participate in a 50th anniversary tribute to The Beatles’ Revolver that Howard Stern has put together to be broadcast on his SiriusXM radio show on Friday, October 7. J’s tackling “Dr. Robert” and the tribute also features Cheap Trick doing “She Said She Said,” Living Colour taking on “Tomorrow Never Knows” and Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats covering “Got to Get You Into My Life.”

You can catch Dinosaur Jr. on tour later this fall, including two BV-presented shows at NYC’s Irving Plaza.
