Jack Ladder releasing new LP, touring w/ The Killers (stream "Feel Brand New")

Australia’s Jack Ladder and the Dreamlanders are following Playmates (which featured Sharon Van Etten on two songs and came out on Fat Possum) with a new album, Blue Poles, on May 4 via Terrible Records. Jack recently released the lead single “White Flag” and we’re now premiering the second single, “Feel Brand New.” Compared to the ballad-y “White Flag,” “Feel Brand New” is more an upbeat head-nodder, and the “Nick Cave fronting a synthpop band” vibes that Playmates had are all over this one. The influences may be easy to pick out, but Jack Ladder’s got an attitude and a swagger (not to mention a great voice) that’s all his own. Listen below.

Jack Ladder has EU/UK dates with his pal (and fellow Aussie) Alex Cameron this week, and after that both Alex and Jack will open for The Killers in Australia. The Killers have already done a bunch of recent touring with Alex Cameron (and Brandon Flowers sang on his record), and they recently co-signed Jack Ladder too:
