Jacob Bannon's Wear Your Wounds releasing debut album, making live debut

Converge frontman Jacob Bannon has been working on a solo project called Wear Your Wounds for a few years now, dropping singles from time to time. Now it would appear that Wear Your Wounds is going to really get going in earnest, as it’s been announced that a debut album called WYW will be dropping on April 7 via Jacob’s label Deathwish. It’s also been announced that the band will be making a live debut next year as well.

The band is going to be comprised of Mike McKenzie (The Red Chord), Chris Maggio (Sleigh Bells, Trap Them, Coliseum), Sean Martin (Hatebreed, Kid Cudi, Twitching Tongues), and Adam McGrath (Cave In, Zozobra). It’ll be making its debut at Roadburn Fest in the Netherlands. This marks the second time in as many years that Roadburn has played host to a cool Converge-related offshoot, and this should certainly be cool.

Meanwhile, Roadburn has added even more bands since we last spoke. In addition to Wear Your Wounds, fans will also get Wolves in the Throne Room, My Dying Bride, Memoriam, Ash Borer, Emma Ruth Rundle, Sumac, Youth Code, Come to Grief, Those Poor Bastards and more. They joined an already-stacked lineup that includes Warning, Pillorian, Deafheaven, Chelsea Wolfe, Dalek, Wretch, Zhrine, Baroness (whose frontman John Baizley curated this year’s lineup) and more. Tickets for that are still on sale.
