Jane Church preps debut LP (listen to “Bleed”), playing shows (1 w/ Curls)
Jane Church, the new band from Matthew Stevenson (who used to lead Spires), will release their debut LP, Calimocho Molotov!, on January 18 via Greenway Records. Where his old band drew from ’60s psych pop and late-’80s Brit indie like The Stone Roses, Jane Church feel a little more late ’70s NYC, with echoes of Lou Reed and Television. You can hear that, and a little Bowie/Eno, in the album’s first single, “Bleed,” which makes its premiere in this post. Check that out below.
Folks in NYC have a couple chances to catch Jane Church this month: December 13 at Berlin with Christopher Owens’ new band, Curls (tickets) and December 19 at Sunnyvale with Coco Verde and Da Pop (more info).
