Jawbreaker auctioning off signed, limited edition posters for gun safety

Jawbreaker will be in Nashville this weekend for the Nashville premiere of their new Don’t Break Down: A Film About Jawbreaker documentary (which screened in NYC with a Q&A in August). It screens at Franklin Theatre on Saturday (11/11), followed by a Q&A with frontman Blake Schwarzenbach and drummer Adam Pfahler. And on Sunday (11/12), they’ll do a signing at indie record store Grimey’s New + Preloved Music.

Jawbreaker also have a very limited new Nashville-themed poster that they’ll be auctioning off signed copies off and donating the proceeds to Everytown, “a movement of Americans working together to end gun violence and build safer communities.” They’re auctioning off five on eBay and two more in person at the Grimey’s signing. Here are details:

Over the course of the past five years, the iconic “I Believe In Nashville” mural has been spotlighted in GQ Magazine, the Wall Street Journal, various TV shows, music videos, commercials and on the Instagram pages of thousands of tourists from around the world. Adrien [Saporti], the artist responsible for the mural, created the design to showcase his love for the city and though it’s often been copied, he’s never officially granted permission for the image to be appropriated or altered in any way, shape or form.

But he’s making an exception for legendary punk band JAWBREAKER, who are coming to Nashville this weekend for the first time in 25 years. Adrien and his East Nashville-based company DCXV Industries are commemorating the event with a special limited edition “I Believe In Jawbreaker” poster.
