Jawbreaker confirm reunion, playing Riot Fest!
Jawbreaker have been talking about reuniting for so long, and it’s finally happening. A Riot Fest representative confirmed to Pitchfork that the band will reunite for Riot Fest Chicago this year, and that it’s currently a one-off exclusive with no other dates planned.
Jawbreaker haven’t played in 21 years and haven’t released an album since 1995’s then-controversial but now-highly-influential Dear You. In the time since their breakup, frontman Blake Schwarzenbach formed Jets To Brazil, Thorns of Life, Forgetters, and led a solo career.
Recently, Jawbreaker reissued 24 Hour Revenge Therapy for its 20th anniversary, and released a video for “Boxcar.” Unfun and Biouvac also received 20th anniversary reissues (Dear You did not).
Riot Fest Chicago happens September 15-17, and tickets go on sale today (4/19) at noon Central. Full lineup HERE (including reunited Jawbreaker pals that dog.)
Chicago is the only Riot Fest happening this year, no Denver.
