Jay-Z American Gangster

Jay-Z adds some of his music back to Spotify (update: removed again)

UPDATE: Less than one day later, Jay-Z’s music is back off Spotify. Oh well.

Jay-Z, who co-owns Tidal, had been keeping his music off Spotify and Apple Music (both of which he criticized for not compensating artists enough), though he did recently release his collaborative album with Beyonce on most streaming services, including both Spotify and Apple Music. Now he added two of his own albums back to Spotify too: 2007’s much-loved American Gangster, and The Hits Collection, which includes such classics as “Public Service Announcement (Interlude),” “Encore,” “Izzo (H.O.V.A.),” “99 Problems,” “Dirt Off Your Shoulder,” “Hard Knock Life (Ghetto Anthem),” “Big Pimpin’,” and more. It’s been reported that The Blueprint Collector’s Edition is also on Spotify, though it doesn’t appear to be true at the moment.

It’s not much but it’s a start, especially with all those classic hits, which should make things a little less frustrating when you’re trying to make a party playlist on Spotify and then remember you can’t put any Jay-Z on it.
