JCRT makes music-inspired flannels: Depeche Mode, My Bloody Valentine, the new Bob Mould LP & more
Independent clothing company JCRT specializes in hand-designed plaid flannels, and their shirt lines include items inspired by pop culture.
Among them is the Mixtape Collection that is inspired by sleeve designs of classic ’80s and ’90s records like My Bloody Valentine’s Loveless, The Clash’s London Calling, De La Soul’s Three Feet High and Rising, Depeche Mode’s Violator, The Cocteau Twins’ Heaven or Las Vegas, and New Order’s Power Corruption and Lies, The Jesus and Mary Chain’s Psychocandy and more. They obviously have very good taste in music, in addition to being talented artists and shirt makers.
The latest in the Mixtape Collection line is an official plaid shirt for Bob Mould‘s brand-new album, Sunshine Rock, pictured above, and described further below:
Co-founded by visionary creatives and award-winning designers Jeffrey Costello and Robert Tagliapietra, the brand is an intersection of cutting-edge digital technology and the rich legacy of analog craftsmanship. JCRT are longtime Mould fans and for his limited edition shirt, they’ve created a plaid flannel inspired by the bold graphic color and layout of Sunshine Rock that also emulates the power and energy of his live shows.
We couldn’t think of a more fitting man than Hüsker Dü & Sugar’s frontman, to now have his own plaid shirt. All orders of the Sunshine Rock Plaid shirt come with a free download of the album. (It’s great! Read our review).
