Jean-Michel Jarre touring, talks electronic music with Hans Zimmer, Gary Numan, Moby, Julia Holter & more (watch)

Electronic music icon Jean-Michel Jarre is up for a Grammy this weekend, as his 2015 album Electronica 1: The Time Machine, is up for Best Electronic/Dance Album. The record features collaborations with M83, Air, Moby, John Carpenter, Pete Townshend, Erasure’s Vince Clarke, Massive Attack’s 3D, Little Boots, and more. (He’s up against Tycho, Underworld, Flume and Louie Vega.) Today (2/10) he’s talking as part of a panel discussion on electronic music at The Americana Lounge at The Record Parlour in Hollywood. Also on the panel: film composer Hans Zimmer, Gary Numan, Moby, Little Boots and Julia Holter, with moderator Nic Harcourt. A second volume of Electronica was released last year featuring collaborations with Zimmer, Numan, Holter, Pet Shop Boys, Primal Scream, The Orb, Yello, Cyndi Lauper, Sebastien Tellier, Peaches and more. You can stream both of those Electronica records below.

Jean-Michelle will tour North America this spring, and plays NYC’s Radio City Music Hall on May 20. Tickets are on sale now. All dates are listed, along with a stream of his classic “Oxygene,” below.
