Jello Biafra releasing EP before LP, touring (dates & stream)

by Andrew Sacher

Jello Biafra

While Keith Morris is experiencing success with OFF!, fellow Cali hardcore veteran frontman Jello Biafra is continuing to front the underrated Jello Biafra and the Guantanamo School of Medicine. Jello is planning to follow up his 2011 EP, Enhanced Methods of Questioning, with a new EP dedicated to the Occupy movement called SHOCK-YOU-PY!, which will be released this fall, and a new full length, White People and the Damage Done, to follow. Jello is as youthful, sarcastic, and political as ever on the new material, even if he’s veering a bit more towards Crazy Horse than DKs on “SHOCK-YOU-PY!.” You can grab a free download of the Sing-A-Long Mix and the Rock-A-Long Mix of that song at Jello’s bandcamp or stream them below. He says that a third mix, which “is the best of both worlds,” will be on the full length album.

Jello will be taking the band on a tour which kicks off in California next week and ends on the east coast early next month, where he’ll hit NYC on September 8 at Knitting Factory with TV TRAMPS. Tickets for that show are on sale now.

A list of all dates and the “SHOCK-YOU-PY!” stream are below.
