Jens Lekman finishing up new LP, playing NYC, LA and Chicago in November

Jens Lekman has been so silent lately, but new news comes today of a new LP and a few North American show. Here’s word straight from Jens:

Hello world, I’m sorry I haven’t been very good at keeping in touch the last months. It’s because I’ve been working endless nights trying to finish my new album. It’s 99% done now! But more about that later. I just wanted to tell you that this fall I’m going to head out and do five shows to try some of the new songs before the album comes out. These will be solo shows, just me, a guitar, maybe a sampler, maybe a glass of red wine resting nonchalantly on my guitar amp. Some stories. Some songs. Maybe a beat so you can dance a little. Will I see you there?

There will be three North American shows in November, including Los Angeles on 11/1, Chicago on 11/2 and finally Brooklyn’s Music Hall of Williamsburg on 11/6. Tickets for the MHOW show go on sale Friday, August 5 at noon.

He’ll also play London and Stockholm after the U.S. shows. All dates are listed, along with a few of his song-a-week Postcards project from a few years back, below.
