Jessica Lea Mayfield releasing ‘Sorry Is Gone,’ touring with Mal Blum

Jessica Lea Mayfield

Jessica Lea Mayfield has announced a new album, Sorry Is Gone, due out September 29 via ATO (pre-order). It’s the followup 2015’s Make My Head Sing, which featured a noticeably heavier sound compared to the rest of her catalog. The video for the title track is out now, and it sounds like Jessica is going back to a lighter sound for this one (watch below). Sorry Is Gone was produced by John Agnello (who’s worked with Sonic Youth and Dinosaur Jr), and features some additional production by Patrick Damphier (The Mynabirds). It also features contributions from an impressive, diverse cast of musicians: Seth Avett, Steve Shelley (Sonic Youth), Emil Amos (Grails, Holy Sons, Om), and Cameron Deyell (Streets of Laredo).

Jessica also announed a North American tour, including a date at NYC’s Baby’s All Right on October 17. That show and a few others are with Don Giovanni-signed singer/songwriter Mal Blum. Tickets for the Baby’s show go on sale Friday (7/28) at 10 AM. All dates are listed below.

Earlier this year, Mayfield contributed “The World Won’t Stop (demo)” to the Our First 100 Days series.
